I really like James Ward's style and the element of comedy he brings into the illustrations and the way he combines his illustrations with ceramic and usable objects. I think this works really well, his illustrations are clean, he doesn't over complicate the image and design with too much colour or other detail around the object.
I really want to work with porcelain and also explore ways to create illustration onto ceramics. I would like to hand paint them on, however using slip paints is very unpredictable with how the colour and everything will turn out. I want to try laser-tran and research into other ways to translate my illustrative work onto physical objects.
