March 2012.
I developed illustrations which I then inked onto hand bound books to sell at the RAG Week Village Fete. I spent a lot of time developing the books and making to good quality to sell.
- A4 Sketchbboks- £3.00
- A5 Sketchbooks- £1.50/£2.00
- A6 Sketchbooks/Notebooks- £1.00
- Grizzly Bear poster- £0.80
- Postcards- £0.60
- Notecards- £0.20
- Grizzly Bear Zine- £0.50
However, on the day of the fete, college was not busy at all and not many people came over to look at any of the stalls. I ended up making about £10 which I gave to charity which means I lost about £8 which I had spent on materials.
I was disappointed with the lack of interest in the whole event but I am glad I took part as I got to experience making for a specific deadline and its the first time I have sold my work on a stall. It is something I am interested doing more out of college as I am developing my work into work to sell in the real world and online. I think taking my work into the public domain would be very beneficial for me to see what response I get.
I need to look more into pricing my work according to how much I spend on materials, time spent making, quality, profit etc. This is something I do not know very much about as of yet.
